LSAC 2007 METHODOLOGY AND CRITERIA

METHODOLOGY

To assure complete accuracy and fairness in selecting the winners for the Life Science Industry Awards, We selected Shanghai Information Center for Life Sciences to collect the votes and tally the results.

The Life Science Awards of China are unique as they allow the scientists to determine the winners. we designed and fielded a 25-question electronic survey to registered members of The Bioon— the leading website of life science in China —as well as readers of The Biobusiness. These respondents, using their experience as product users, voted for their favorite suppliers—taking into consideration practical factors such as satisfaction with product features, likelihood to recommend the supplier, the supplier with best overall solution, and cost-effectiveness.

The winners for company of the year, each product category and for each customer communication and support category were determined by quantitative measure of nominations received for each supplier in addition to the customer value score. The combined score (number of nominations received for each supplier and supplier customer value score) was calculated for all suppliers and used to determine the winner for each category. The customer value score calculation was based on additional questions in the ballot that contribute to a company’s competitiveness and success.

Company Awards Criteria

The score of is the sum of the total nominations points for each supplier plus score factor.

Score Factor: 1 point, 1 product or communication and support award add 0.2 points, 1 finnalist add 0.1 points.

Total Score is the sum of nomiation scores plus score factor.

Product Awards Criteria

The winners for each award category were determined by calculating a numerical value. The value is the sum of the total nominations points for each supplier plus each supplier’s customer value score.

The customer value score was based on additional questions about the nominated suppliers that indicate their customers’ degree of satisfaction and loyalty.
